Cookie policy

The cookies and browser storage this website and the console use.

Updated

A plain-language description of the product as it is. It is not legal advice.

The short version

This website sets no cookies. The vfrey console uses only the cookies and browser storage it needs to work. Neither sets advertising or analytics cookies. Page views on this website and the console's public pages are counted by Plausible Analytics, which uses no cookies and no cross-site tracking (see the Privacy Policy). Because every item below is strictly necessary to give you the service you asked for, or a choice you made, we do not show a consent banner. If that changes we will ask first.

The free local tool and this website

This website and the free local tool

This website sets no cookies and does not sign anyone in. It counts page views with Plausible Analytics, which sets no cookies and keeps no identifier about you (see the Privacy Policy). It keeps one thing in your browser's local storage: theme, your light or dark choice. It never leaves your device. Clear it any time. The free local tool runs on your machine and does not use browser cookies of ours.

The paid service (console)

Cookies (console)

  • Session cookie (named like sb-...-auth-token), set by Supabase Auth. Keeps you signed in and holds your session. Until you sign out or it expires. It is first-party and necessary.
  • vfrey_org. Remembers which workspace you chose in the switcher. It is only a hint: the server checks it against your memberships on every request. It is httpOnly, same-site, and lasts up to a year. Necessary.
  • deviance_locale. Remembers the language you chose. Lasts up to a year. A preference that you set.

The paid service (console)

Local storage in your browser

  • theme: light or dark.
  • deviance.sidebar: the width of the sidebar, and whether it is collapsed.
  • deviance.locale: the language you chose.
  • the last sign-in method you used, so we can mark it on the sign-in page.

These never leave your device. Clear them in your browser at any time.

Other things to know

Our host, Vercel, logs standard request details (such as IP address and browser type) on its servers. That is described in the Privacy Policy. Pages of the public documentation site, hosted by Mintlify, are covered by that site's own notice. When you sign in with GitHub or Google, or pay on Stripe's pages, those companies set their own cookies on their own pages.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. If you block the session cookie you cannot stay signed in.
