vfrey is a command-line tool plus a skill for coding agents: Claude Code, Codex, Grok, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and others. You start a project folder, open it in your agent, and ask for a video. The agent runs the commands.

Quickstart

Start a project and make one video.

Agent skill

Install the vfrey skill for your agent, update it, or remove it.

Your agent

Set up Claude Code, Codex, Grok, Cursor, Gemini CLI, or another agent.

Projects

A folder for your videos, its data, and its dashboard.

Local desk

The database, the dashboard, and the desk verbs.

Commands

Every command and what it does.

What a person says

Run npm create vfrey@beta my-channel, cd my-channel, and open the folder in your agent. The folder already holds the instructions and the skill, so the agent knows vfrey. Say “Make me a short video.” and the agent runs npx vfrey, writes the script, designs the scene, renders the video into videos/, and shows it to you. npx vfrey open opens the dashboard. See the Quickstart and Projects.

What a run does

A run has five stages: source, generate, render, publish, engage. vfrey checks every video before and after the render. See Quality checks. A video about one subject (--about) is a one-off and is not blocked by a series job in progress. See How it works.

Engines

Remotion is the default engine. vfrey Framey is bundled and ready once Chrome Headless Shell is cached. HyperFrames is ready when its CLI is installed. ComfyUI is listed but not wired yet. You can choose an engine per run, per series, or for the machine. See Engines.

Publishing

vfrey posts through the official YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook APIs, with your own keys. The AI-disclosure flag is always set. Without keys, publish is skipped and the video stays on your machine.
The skill is how the agent finds the commands. Everything that runs on your machine is free and needs no account, including autopilot. Paid features (Topics, Creators, Mail, and an MCP server for agents without a terminal) need a vfrey account and the hosted service, which are not live yet. See Plans and credits.
